I will be guesting at a range of studios for the foreseeable future. Some will be more or less accessible in different ways. Please let me know what your access needs are in your booking form and I should be able to time your appointment to be at the most appropriate location to make the booking as accessible as possible for you.
For access enquires please fill out a contact form, or email me at [email protected]
I have tattooed people who use wheelchairs and mobility aids, ranging from walking frames or sticks, compact sports chairs, as well as larger motorised chairs. Many of my clients live with EDS, chronic pain, PTSD, and other conditions that factor into their experience of getting tattooed. I feel comfortable working with clients with a range of disabilities, health conditions, neurodivergences and/or access needs.
My space:
This will change depending on which studio I am at. If it would help you to have a video preview of the space before your appointment, let me know as this can generally be arranged.
Covid safety
I tattoo with a mask to reduce risk of viral transmission during our appointment. We have complimentary KN95 masks available for you to wear if you wish to do so while you are in the studio.
Other tattooers in the space do not work masked but are generally happy to do so on days when that is needed for your safety. If you would rather that is arranged before your arrival, feel free to put it in your booking notes and I will ensure to the best of our ability that everyone is masked during your appointment. If needed, we can arrange to book for a day where there will be minimal other people in the studio with us.
Getting to the studio:
This will change depending on where my guest spots is at that time.
Entrance and Tattooing Space:
- Please feel free to contact me for this information and I will get it from the studio(s) on your behalf
Bathroom:
- Please feel free to contact me for this information and I will get it from the studio(s) on your behalf
Sensory and privacy:
- Privacy: Some studios will be open plan, meaning an open room with many beds without dividers between them, while others will have separate rooms for bookings to take place. Many studios will have privacy screens I can set up to screen us off if needed. If you require more privacy, let me know and I can book you in on a quiet day.
- Noise: There will be music playing on shared speakers. The volume and/or music itself can be altered at your discretion. Voices from other artists and clients will be audible, especially if we are in an open plan studio. The tattoo machines also create mechanical noise, ranging from almost silent to very loud.
Most modern machines are quite quiet. - Smells: Sometimes, either myself or other bodies in the space may be wearing perfumes and/or scents. Occasionally scented oils may be heated in the space. If any of this could be an issue for you for any reason, just let me know in advance and I can arrange for this to not be the case during your booking.
- Management: I offer disposable ear plugs as the space can get quite loud at times. I recommend that you bring your own headphones, eye coverings/sunglasses (as the bright lights can not be dimmed), earplugs, fidget/stim devices, blankets or any other items that might improve your sensory comfort.
- Interaction/safety: I will not be offended if you prefer not to talk during the booking. Regardless of your interactive preferences, I always establish a safe word (usually: "stop") with each client before starting and check in about your anticipated capacity to use that word if necessary. If you prefer to use non-verbal cues, I am happy to negotiate these with you on the day.
If you have any privacy or sensory concerns and/or questions let me know with as much notice as possible and we can discuss how best to address your needs in the space.
Furniture:
- Tattooing furniture will have a maximum weight rating. The minimum of this will be 100kg, but it is sometimes higher. If you would like me to check the weight rating of furniture for our appointment day, please feel free to ask.
- I can also check their dimensions.
- Sometimes their height is adjustable to make getting on and off easier.
- Sometimes pillows are available to support joints and limbs.
- If you have any ideas or concerns about any of the above, or if any factors listed here (or not) would be useful to you, please mention this in your accessibility notes and I will do my best to make sure that you can be fully supported during your booking.
Allergies:
- Latex: I generally use latex gloves for their biodegradability, but if you have a latex allergy, just let me know in the appointment form and I will make sure to have some nitrile available for you.
- Aloe Vera: Some tattoo products contain this as an ingredient. These can be avoided if indicated. (Stencil transfer gel is a common one, but can be substitued with dettol for aloe allergies.)
- Incense, skin tape, lidocaine, etc.: You get the idea - just let us know. :)
